Grandma's chow chow pickle

Chow chow green tomato pickle recipe.

Recipe ingredients

6lbs onions, beans, cauliflower, cucumber, green tomatoes.
3 pints vinegar
2lbs sugar
1 cup of flour
4 Tbs mustard
2 Tbs tumeric

Cooking Steps

  • Cut onions, cauliflower, cucumber and green tomatoes into pieces and cover with salt and leave overnight.

  • Bring to the boil - 3 pints vinegar, 2lbs sugar.

  • Add strained veges and cook for 15 mins.

  • Thicken with flour, mustard, and tumeric.

  • Add to pickle and simmer for 30 mins.
