White Sauce

White Sauce

A basic white sauce made with butter, flour and milk.

Recipe ingredients

1 cup milk
2 Tbsp Butter
2 Tbsp Flour
Salt and Pepper to taste

Cooking Steps

  • Stove top: - Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add the milk constantly stirring as you add it. Keep stiring over a medium heat until the mixture thickens, and then cook for 3 min longer (keep stirring)

  • Microwave: - Melt the butter (approx 20 sec) Stir in the flour, salt and pepper and then stir in the milk. Microwave for 1 min then stir, microwave again 1 min and then stir - Repeat 2 more times or until the sauce is thick.
