Easy Hummus

Easy Hummus

Hummus is a lovely Mediterranean dip or spread made from Chick peas and Tahini(sesame paste). You can also add sun dried tomatoes to add a different flavour, in fact anything goes. (quantities may vary)

Recipe ingredients

2 x 420 g tins of Chick Peas (drain but save liquid)
2 tbsp Tahini
1 tsp salt
1 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp olive oil approx
lemon juice to taste

Cooking Steps

  • Throw everything into a food processer and blend until smooth.

  • Add water from chick pea's until you get the right consistency. You can add more olive oil if you want but the less you add the more diet healthy the hummus is.

From what I can remember of my travels to Egypt and Jordan as a teenager, this Hummus recipe sounds about right. I will try it and come back with a photo perhaps. Wendy
