Caramel Slice

Caramel Slice recipe.

Recipe ingredients

1 cup self raising flour.
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup desicated coconut.
125g melted butter.
395 can condensed milk.
2 tbsp golden syrup.
30g butter.
150g nestles dark chocolate melts,melted.

Cooking Steps

  • Heat oven to 180 degrees C on bake. Combine the flour, sugar, coconut and butter in a bowl. Place in a 12 by 18cm baking tin and place in oven for 10 minutes.

  • Combine condensed milk, golden syrup and butter in a sauce pan stir over a medium heat until butter has melted.

  • When the base has been in the oven for 10 minutes take it out, pour the condensed milk mixture over it and return to the oven for a further 10 minutes. When done leave to cool.

  • When cooled pour over the melted chocolate. Slice when set and enjoy.

Used only 1/2cup brown sugar

Used only 1/2cup brown sugar instead, and 100g butter for the base & it came out well. This is a crowd pleasing recipe.
