More new site features.
For anybody interested in our site developments, I have made a few modifications and added a few new features which I will explain in summarized detail below. Hopefully these changes won't have any negative effect on site performance (page load speed) or usability for you guys.
URL on your profile page
When you visit your or any other member's profile page there is now a URL (web address) displayed above your picture. This URL is a direct link to your profile page and can be used to promote your self on FreeRecipes. Use it in your "forum signatures" on another website for example.
Twitter button on your profile page
Fill in your Twitter username while creating your first or editing your existing account. An identifiable icon will automatically appear on your profile page that links and directs people straight to your twitter page.
Comment notifications
It is now possible to receive e-mail notifications for when someone posts a comment on content that you have created, like recipes. Additionally it is also possible to receive e-mail notifications for when someone replies to a comment you have made. To subscribe or unsubscribe to comment or content notifications go to My Account -> Edit.
A new system to edit and moderate content.
It basically goes like this:
- You can edit your own submitted content at any time.
- The already published (live) version of your document remains unchanged while the changes you've just made creates a new "Revision".
- The new "Revision" will stay in a moderation queue until approved by a moderator.
- After approval, your "Revision" will replace the existing (live) version of the document.
You will see a new tab/button above recipes and other content created by you. The new "Revisions" tab/button lists all current and yet to be moderated versions of your content.
All this stuff is only visible to you while logged in and on content created by you. This system helps to reduce spam and bogus submissions.
