Beef rissoles
Recipe ingredients
2 bacon rashers, rind removed and chopped finely
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
¼ cup flat-leaf parsley, coarsely chopped
500 grams beef mince
2 tps barbecue sauce
1 tbsp mustard
2 cups beef stock
1 tbsp corn flour
2 tbsp water
Cooking Steps
Cook onion and bacon in a frying pan, stir until onion gets soft. Remove from heat.
Combine breadcrumbs, parsley, egg, worcestershire sauce, mince, bacon/onion mixture and half the barbeque sauce in a bowl. Now shape mixture into eight rissoles.
Use the same frying pan (slightly oiled) to cook rissoles in batches until brown both sides and cooked through.
Take out risssoles. Put stock, remaining barbeque sauce and mustard in the pan and bring to the boil.
Stir in water and cornflour. Keep cooking while stirring until it boils and gets thick.
