Beef rissoles

Really meaty and juicy beef delights. I serve them with dipping sauces like tomato sauce or aioli and with some salad on the side. The leftovers from this recipe also makes a great breakfast snack.

Recipe ingredients

2 bacon rashers, rind removed and chopped finely
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
¼ cup flat-leaf parsley, coarsely chopped
500 grams beef mince
2 tps barbecue sauce
1 tbsp mustard
2 cups beef stock
1 tbsp corn flour
2 tbsp water

Cooking Steps

  • Cook onion and bacon in a frying pan, stir until onion gets soft. Remove from heat.

  • Combine breadcrumbs, parsley, egg, worcestershire sauce, mince, bacon/onion mixture and half the barbeque sauce in a bowl. Now shape mixture into eight rissoles.

  • Use the same frying pan (slightly oiled) to cook rissoles in batches until brown both sides and cooked through.

  • Take out risssoles. Put stock, remaining barbeque sauce and mustard in the pan and bring to the boil.

  • Stir in water and cornflour. Keep cooking while stirring until it boils and gets thick.
